Aggie’s Sewing Shop in Wasilla is run by Aggie, who got her start altering bridal dresses at Anderson’s Bride in Anchorage and fell in love with the craft before opening her own shop in 2013. Since July 2023, Aggie has focused exclusively on bridal gown alterations, where her specialty truly shines: hemming wedding dresses while preserving intricate beaded, textured edges, adding sleeves and entire backs to gowns that didn’t originally have them, and incorporating embroidered details using a dress’s own extra fabric.

Aggie also makes custom ballistic vests for first responders, a unique offering alongside her bridal work, building on years of experience with a broader range of alterations including bridesmaids’ dresses, prom dresses, and special-occasion children’s wear. She works by appointment only and is known for accommodating short-notice requests, including completing full wedding dress alterations on a tight turnaround for out-of-town brides.
